GEM PUR® Exterior System


titanium one five.small.jpgGEM PUR®is a two component high solids polyurethane topcoat with excellent gloss retention and high UV resistance.  

This product line is intended for use over ISO-0010 polyurethane insulator/ barrier coat.

This product is designed for interior or exterior use and is an excellent choice for architectural structures as well as exterior doors and windows, garage doors and exterior furniture.





Components of the GEM PUR® Exterior System

ISO-0010       2K Isolante/barrier coat that promotes adhesion / may be tinted with 844 colorants up to 20 ounces per gallon

CRYL-0700    2K clear sealer

PUR-05XX     2K clear topcoat / can be utilized in a self-sealing system
            PUR-0590  High Gloss
            PUR-0560  Semi-Gloss
            PUR-0530  Satin 

For exterior PIGMENTED system all above products may be tinted, please refer to product data sheet (PDS), for proper instructions.

Recommended Coating System


Step 1A:   CLEAR SYSTEM: Gemini Oil Stains, Lacquer Stains or NGR Dye Stains.  Note: when oil stains are used ISO-0010 must be used prior to sealer to ensure adhesion

Step 1B:  PIGMENTED SYSTEM: apply 2 to 2 1/2 wet mils ISO-0010; tinted with 844 colorants to desired color depth, not to exceed 20 oz. per gallon.  SKIP TO STEP 3.

Step 2:  apply 2 to 2 1/2 wet mils ISO-0010

Step 3:
  scuff sand 320 to 400 non-stearated/tack cloth or blow off residual dust

Step 4:
  apply 3 to 3 1/2 wet mils of CRYL-0700

Step 5:  scuff sand 320 to 400 non-stearated/tack cloth or blow off residual dust

Step 6:  apply 3 to 3 1/2 wet mils of PUR-05XX (desired sheen)
             For exterior PIGMENTED system, the PUR-05XX topcoat may be tinted.


Insulator/Barrier ISO-0010
is designed as an adhesion promoter and barrier coat to be utilized over oil & alkyd stains and also over exotic substrates where resins and tannins may be present.

GLAZING if utilizing an oil or alkyd glaze ISO-0010 must be used after glazing to insure adhesion.  Test panels should be completed for system approval prior to completion of project.
